What's up with shipping?
We’re living in uncertain times, especially regarding shipping. For those who are unaware, the USPS is currently under threat of having it’s funding pulled, which would be disastrous for many reasons we won’t go into here. For further information and ways to help, visit the postal worker’s union website here: https://www.apwu.org/savepostoffice
That said, shipping is tricky under the best of circumstances. Cost spikes have been known to kill or cripple previous Kickstarters. Therefore, we are taking a page from other successful Kickstarters such as Monster Care Squad and deferring the cost of shipping until the product is ready to be shipped out to you. This way, our funding model will not be affected by postal issues and you can rest assured that you will receive the product you paid for. For these reasons, shipping costs will be calculated and charged via Backerkit once Brinkwood is ready to ship.

Is this a stand-alone game? Do I need any other source-books? What's Forged in the Dark?
Brinkwood is a stand-alone game based on the Forged in the Dark Standard Reference Document (FitD SRD). This means you will NOT need any other game books or source books, as all rules, including those borrowed from the FitD SRD, will be included in the game book.

I'm international, can I still get Brinkwood?
Shipping costs from the United States to other countries have spiked recently, and are likely to only increase further. For this reason, we are encouraging international fans to pledge at the Print-On-Demand level or International Brigades level. Our Print-On-Demand partner, DriveThruRPG, is able to offer significantly cheaper shipping prices than those that are commercially available to us, and we don’t want to place an undue financial burden on our international backers by trying to ship internationally ourselves.
You can view an estimate of shipping costs from DriveThruRPG here: https://support.drivethrurpg.com/hc/en-us/articles/209936893-Estimated-Shipping-Costs-For-Printed-Products
Furthermore, if you pledge for any additional add-ons (including the art book and poster), you will be able to add POD versions of said add-ons via Backerkit. You will then receive a coupon to order POD versions of the add-ons at-cost from DriveThruRPG.
Last but not least, if you have your heart set on a non-Print-on-Demand physical copy and are willing to risk a price hike due to international shipping… well, I’m not the boss of you. You can certainly pledge at any tier (or pledge à la carte) and flag it as “Ship to US”, just be aware that the shipment costs paid through BackerKit might be more than you are expecting, depending on rising shipping costs. Furthermore, bear in mind that you may need to pay VAT / GST duties on your shipment, depending on where you live and the rewards you select.

I don't see a tier that includes exactly what I want. What can I do?
If you don’t see a pledge tier that’s perfect for you, not to worry! You can pledge à la carte. Simply include enough funds in your pledge to cover the cost of the rewards you want, and you’ll be able to use our pledge manager to tailor your rewards to your liking. Just be sure to pledge now, so your pledge has the maximum effect towards stretch goals!

Will stretch goals effect the production schedule?
Short answer: No. We’ve (hopefully) built in enough time to account for producing and distributing the stretch goals. However, if the last year has taught us anything, it’s that sometimes the world has other plans.
Our view is that the stretch goals are “nice to haves”, and therefore, if a decision needs to be made between releasing on-time or waiting for a stretch goal that is delayed by external forces, we’ll err on the side of releasing sooner. Furthermore, we won’t be hounding or hunting down any of our stretch goal authors in the event that, for whatever reason, they are unable to complete their work by release. This isn’t to say that we expect delays from any of our guest authors, only to say that we value our worker’s health and sanity over meeting a deadline for an optional stretch goal.

How do I get all the stretch goals?
Any backer who backs at least $10 will receive all included stretch goals. Most stretch goals will be incorporated into the text of the Brinkwood book, barring page limits or other issues.
The notable exception to this is “In the Face of Our Despair.” “Despair” was written previous to the launch of this kickstarter, and we struck a deal with it’s author to expand “Despair” and offer this expanded edition to our backers at a discount.
Similarly to the original Blades in the Dark kickstarter, the “In the Face of Our Despair” stretch goal will fund expansion of an additional setting and game that will be made available for purchase to kickstarter backers at a significant discount from retail price, both as a physical add-on or digital add-on.
By the terms of the deal we struck with the author of “In the Face of Our Despair”, all proceeds from these digital add-ons, as well as 70% of the profits from physical sales of the add-on, and a $200 bonus once the stretch goal funds, will go to the original author.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
